Who We Are: Our Story
Greener Edge Ltd was set up by Energy and Sustainability Consultant Stu Meades in 2018 to provide energy and sustainability solutions within the public sector and corporate environment.
Meet Stu Meades
Stu is the Managing Director of Greener Edge. Stu is an enormously passionate individual who has an infectious enthusiasm for environmentalism, sustainability and decarbonisation. His passion was formed at an early age through hillwalking, mountaineering and rock climbing and was cemented when he spent time working as an emergency response logistician on humanitarian response programs throughout Africa, Eastern Europe and in Pakistan.
Stu spent 10 years working within the corporate environment as an energy and sustainability manager, embedding sustainability into all aspects of operations and changing perceptions of environmental responsibility. He was responsible for a portfolio of 50 retail and leisure assets across the UK, keeping the entire portfolio abreast of current legislation as well as implementation of the ISO:50001 management system across all sites.
Stu spent 2 years working for the NHS, responsible for providing sustainability leadership to an acute Trust, including the development of Green Plans and strategies for heat decarbonisation.
In 2018 Stu and his family moved from Kent to Eryri, the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. He did this to allow his children to grow up surrounded by nature and to learn, as youngsters, the importance of protecting and preserving our environment.
In his spare time Stu is an active member of the Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team, is learning the Welsh language and is a keen climber, runner and member of the local community.
Stu worked as a humanitarian aid worker for 7 years, in the Balkans, Africa and Asia
Stu worked for 10 years in the corporate sector as an energy manager responsible for 50 UK retail and leisure assets
He spent 2 years working for the NHS as an Energy and Sustainability Manager
